REGULATIONS
The
2024
Londinium
Pedo
will
be
organised
by
the
United
Hospitals
and
University
of
London
Motor
Club
on
Sunday
6
th
October
2024.
It
will
start
between
1.00pm
and
2.00pm,
and
finish
three
hours
later.
Individual
entrants
will
be
notified
of
their
exact
time
and
place
of
start
in
the
Final
Instructions
-
which
act
as
acknowledgement
of
entry
-
sent
to
all
entrants
in
the
week
preceding
the
event.
Entries
will
be
accepted
from
up
to
150
teams
of
one
or
two
persons
,
subject to the organisers’ discretion (young children may accompany competing adults at their responsibility).
All
entries
should
reach
the
Secretary
of
the
Event
by
23
rd
September
with
entry
fee
of
£20.00
[per
team].
Late
entries
will
be
accepted
up
to
1
st
October
if
accompanied
with
a
late
entry
surcharge
of
£5
(total
£25.00)
and
must
include
email
and
telephone
contact
details
plus
a
UK
address
(for
Final
Instructionsday
and
evening
telephone
numbers. Entries received
after that date may not be accepted
.
Competitors will require pencil, watch and suitable footwear. Timing will be by marshals’ watches - set to BBC time.
There
will
be
awards
to
winners
and
runners-up
overall
-
with
additional
awards
to
other
high
placed
teams
in
each
class.
Provisional
results
will
be
announced
at
a
communal
finish.
This
will
be
as
soon
as
possible
after
the
finish
time
of
the
latest starting competitor. Printed results will be sent to all entrants after the event.
The
organisers
reserve
the
right
to
exclude
competitors
behaving
irresponsibly
or
in
a
manner
contrary
to
the
spirit
of
the event (including splitting and/or use of smartphones).
The
event
takes
place
entirely
within
the
City
of
London,
and
will
be
of
such
length
that
it
may
be
easily
travelled
by
all
entrants.
Certain
parts
of
the
route
may
-
with
appropriate
permission
-
traverse
private
property.
Otherwise,
all
information is visible from areas to which the public have general and free access
.
One
mark
will
be
awarded
for
each
clue
correctly
and
accurately
answered.
Some
questions
may
be
used
as
tie-
deciders,
but
will
carry
no
extra
points.
Route
cards
for
each
section
must
be
exchanged
for
the
following
one
at
intermediate
check
points
at,
or
before,
the
time
prescribed
for
each
team.
No
team,
however,
will
be
permitted
to
depart
from
any
control
before
this
prescribed
time.
At
each
check
point
one-half
point
will
be
subtracted
for
each
minute late.
A
separate
but
concurrent
event
the
Mini-Pedo
will
take
place.
This
is
a
subset
of
the
overall
route
with
fewer
clues.
Entry
to
this
is
strictly
for
families
(i.e.
those
accompanied
by
children
too
young
to
contribute),
the
more
senior
(we
suggest
any
team
with
a
member
older
than
55),
or
those
whose
stamina,
for
medical
reasons,
is
not
up
to
the
full
event. There are no separate classes within this event.
For
all
classes,
including
the
Mini-Pedo,
the
limit
of
two
persons
per
team
is
enforced.

children
too
young to contribute; however, they are the responsibility of the entrant at all times.]
City
roads
can
be
very
busy,
consequently
you
are
advised
to
cross
major
roads
only
at
recognised
crossings.
The
organisers
have
made
every
effort
to
devise
a
safe
route
and
to
recommend
sensible
crossing
places
-
but
can
accept
no responsibility for your conduct.
It
is
a
condition
of
entry
that
all
competitors
(i.e.
entrant
and,
if
not
solo,
partner)
must
sign
an
indemnity,
which
will
be
posted
with
the
Final
Instructions.

must
be
handed
to
the
marshal
at
the
designated
start
location
before
commencing the event.
